Garrett is Certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and serves on the board of the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (“NAELA”) and is a member of the NAELA federal advocacy and special needs planning committees. She is accredited by the Veteran’s Administration and is a credentialed mediator and a member of the Texas Guardianship Association, the Austin Bar Association and the College of the State Bar of Texas as well as the Texas State Bar and American Bar Associations.
An honors graduate of Cornell University, she was on the Dean’s List at Wharton Business School and earned her J.D. at Columbia Law School where she received the Parker Award and a Mellon Fellowship before doing post-graduate work at Harvard Law School.
